Disney’s “Zootopia,” a movie which has a Filipino’s touch, topped the North American box office after earning $ 51.3 million during its second weekend; getting a total of $ 144 million following its record-setting debut for Disney Animation Studios.
In an Agence France-Presse article which was posted by GMA, it was disclosed that the film surpassed the 2013 Disney blockbuster “Frozen” on its opening weekend.
“Zootopia” tells the tale of intrepid rabbit police officer Judy Hopps, who works with a fox to solve a crime in the animal metropolis of “Zootopia.” The movie comes with a touch of Pinoy as Fil-Am Josie Trinidad oversees the translation of the script to its visual form. The script, on the other hand, was written by Jared Bush and Phil Johnson, based on a story by Bush, Rich Moore, and the film’s director Bryan Howard.
According to Trinidad, the movie story is “near and dear” to her heart as she can relate to the lead character, Judy Hopps; a rabbit who moved to a big city and finds herself wondering if she made a terrible decision.
“This is the exact same thing I went through when I moved to New York,” she shared.
