MANILA, Philippines – Cesar Montano chose not to comment on the controversial statements of his co-star in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Nilalang”, that Maria Ozawa made in her recent interview with Mo Twister on “Good Times With DJ Mo”, wherein she claimed she had a “one-night stand” with Montano.
According to an article published by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), the 53-year-old actor was asked for his reaction on the issue when he visited the fifth night of the wake of blockbuster TV and movie director Wenn V. Deramas at the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City on Friday, March 4.
He politely refused saying: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry to disappoint you pero nandito po ako para makiramay.”
[I’m sorry, I’m sorry to disappoint you but I am here to offer my condolences.]
Ozawa has since clarified that she was just joking when she said she had a “one-night stand” with Montano. She thought it was very rude of DJ Mo to edit the part of the interview where she said it was all a joke.
According to an article published by Coconuts Manila, the actress sent a text message to Montano to apologize and added she didn’t expect her joke would create such a ruckus
Her text read: “Did u see this news??? What’s up with the Philippine media making up stories? We were joking about it at my podcast but didn’t know the news will pick it up. I’m sorry Cesar for the hassle. I just saw the news and it really broke my heart.”
