- ABS-CBN has spoken up on the Vivian Velez-Cristine Reyes feud
- The Kapamilya network denied Cristine sent Velez out of the dressing room
- The feud between the two actresses is supposedly just a ‘miscommunication’
MANILA, Philippines – The ABS-CBN Network finally breaks it silence over the alleged feud between Cristine Reyes-Vivian Velez in the set of Kapamilya television series “Tubig at Langis”.
In a statement released on Tuesday, March 8, ABS-CBN denied that Cristine ‘humiliated’ the veteran actress and demanded the latter to leave the dressing room reserved for both of them, as claimed by Velez in a Facebook post on Sunday.
“Narinig na ng karamihan ang panig ni Vivian ngunit may isang punto lang na may kaugnayan sa nangyari sa dressing room ang nais linawin ng programa,” the statement read. [Everyone heard Vivian’s side but there is one point related to the incident that the program wants to clarify.]
The Kapamilya network explained there is not truth to Velez’s allegation that she was sent out of the dressing room, and it was all but a miscommunication.
“Nagkaroon lamang ng miscommunication at inaako ng production team ang responsibilidad nito. Sa katunayan, walang problema ang staff sa work ethics ni Cristine at maayos itong nakikisama sa lahat ng katrabaho niya,” ABS-CBN added.
[There was only miscommunication and the production team is taking responsibility for it. In fact, the staff have no problem with Cristine’s work ethics and is in good terms with all her co-workers.]
Velez resigned from ‘Tubig at Langis’ after claiming she was humiliated by an actress she was working with in the show.
“I have never been so upset and humiliated by an actress in my entire career spanning four decades!’ she wrote on her Facebook.
While she did not name the ‘rude actress’ she referred to in her post, she later identified her as Cristine Reyes in an interview with PEP.ph.
“She wanted to humiliate me. She was happy to see me go,” she was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN said it has already spoken with both actresses and hopes that the controversy will finally be put to rest.
