- The widow of the late reggae artist popularly known as ‘Papadom’ was found dead
- She was reported missing by friends and relatives after failing to come home or to answer calls and text messages
- Her body was allegedly dumped in Kalayaan Avenue in Makati
A day after she was reported missing by concerned friends and family, the widow of the late reggae artist Dominic “Papadom” Gamboa of the band Tropical Depression was found dead.
An article written by Edwin P. Sallan on InterAksyon said that Teng Santaromana Gamboa worked for a business processing outsourcing company in Makati where she was last seen logging out at 2:20AM on February 10.
After failing to come home or answer calls or text messages in her mobile phone which was subsequently turned off, Gamboa was reported missing.
Meanwhile, a family member reportedly disclosed that authorities said Gamboa’s body was dumped in Kalayaan Avenue.
Bearing similarities on previous incidents of holdups in Makati, unconfirmed reports hinted that Gamboa was possibly a victim of holdup.
The alleged crime is still being investigated and no police report has been released yet.
“We will provide more details as soon as the family is ready, as we will need the public’s help in identifying those who are responsible,” Gamboa’s sister-in-law, Daphne Gamboa-Gorman, said as she requested that the family be given privacy at this time of their grief.
The victim’s sister Sunny Santaromana Graham, on the other hand, posted a message of thanks on her Facebook page which reads: “We thank everyone who sent encouraging, positive vibes and prayers over the past couple of days, and continue to offer words of comfort and concern especially for the young sons she loved so much. They really need all our love and support at this difficult time.”
Gamboa’s death came three years after husband Papadom passed away. The couple are survived by their two sons.
She was also the manager of Tropical Depression and was a well-loved figure within the local alternative music circle.
