“Ang isa sa mga dumalo na si Mark Lumawag sinabing nasaktan siya sa pahayag ni Pacquiao na mas masahol pa sa hayop ang taong nakikipagrelasyon sa kaparehong kasarian. Gayun pa man, handa naman daw siyang tanggapin ang paghingi ni Pacquiao ng tawad [One of his guests, Mark Lumawag, admitted that he was hurt by Pacquiao’s remark that those who are in same-sex marriage are worse than animals. However, he said he is willing to accept Pacquiao’s apology],” broadcast journalist Raffy Tima reports on Balitanghali, Wednesday, February 17.
Pacquiao is being criticized because of his comments against same-sex marriage. When asked about it in an interview, Pacquiao said those who are in same-sex relationship are worse than animals.
Because of the interview, the senatoriable gained a lot of negative comments online and allegedly lost thousands of followers on Twitter.
He later issued an apology and insisted he is “not condemning LGBT”. Still, he stays firm in his belief and maintained he is “against same sex marriage”.
“I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. I still stand on my belief that I’m against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I’m praying for you,” Pacquiao stated.
