- Marian Rivera says she wants to have a big family with Dingdong Dantes
- The Kapuso actress says she wants four to five more babies
- They will wait for at least two years for another child
Overjoyed mother Marian Rivera said she wants four or more babies and will wait two years after giving birth to her first daughter Maria Letizia Dantes for a second child.
GMA network’s brightest star shared in a recent story that she dreams of a big family and already plans on having the next baby to follow her first born nicknamed “Zia.”
“Pahinga muna kami ng two years, tapos bubuo kami ng kapatid ni Zia. Pangarap ko ‘yun. Gusto ko ng maraming anak. Gusto namin ng apat o lima,” Marian was quoted as saying.
[We will rest first for two years then we will make another baby after Zia. That’s my dream. I want many kids. We want four or five.]
She also shared how she and her husband Dingdong Dantes have been very hands-on parents since Zia was born.
“Uwi nang uwi ng bahay. Titingnan lang ‘yung anak niya!” she said. (He keeps on coming home to see his daughter.)
She added: “Nakakatuwa. Noong una, hindi niya pa mahawakan kasi natatakot siya. Sabi ko, ‘Anak mo ‘yan. Kaya mo ‘yan.’ Hanggang sa nasanay siya. Kaya niya nang kaming dalawa ang magpaligo and everything.”
[It’s funny. At first, he couldn’t touch his daughter because he’s scared. But I told him: ‘that’s your child. You can do it.’ Until such time that he got used to doing it. We now do everything by ourselves, including bathing our baby.]
Less than a year after they got married, Marian and Dingdong had their baby girl “Zia.” She was born on November 23 last year.
Dingdong earlier said in an interview that the name Letizia traces back to his grandmother who bears the same name. Marian’s family also has a family member who is named Letizia, he shared.
“And ‘yung Maria naman, lahat kasi ng babae sa family namin lahat may Maria, so gusto lang namin ituloy ‘yung tradisyon. And, at the same time, bilang isang Maria, ‘yung salitang ugat or yung pangalang ugat [ni Marian] ay Maria rin,” he previously explained in another interview.
[All of our female family members has Maria in their name so we want to continue the tradition. And at the same time, Maria is the root word of Marian’s name.]
