The country once again celebrated the victory of “Pambansang Kamao” Manny Pacquiao as he dominated Jessie Vargas last Sunday, November 06, 2016 via unanimous decision. Although Vargas was a lot younger and taller, Pacquiao proved that he is the better between them.
After the fight, Pacquiao got back to his role as a Senator. As a ‘comeback’ gift, he donated his WBO Welterweight belt to the Senate.
“To manifest my heartfelt thanksgiving, I would like to donate my WBO welterweight belt to the Senate of the Philippines. The honor does not belong to me alone but to every Filipino,”he said.
“May it serve as an inspiration for everyone to pursue excellence and to continue fighting for our nation’s sovereignty,”he added.
This was after the Senate had a resolution to commend Pacquiao as the eight-division world champion.
