While we are enjoying our long weekend, probably away from the city or at home in our living rooms, President Rodrigo Duterte flew to Jolo, Sulu to visit soldiers who were wounded in action in the ongoing all-out war against the notorious Abu Sayyaf Group.
The soldiers were recuperating in a hospital in Camp Teodulfo Bautista.
The President went from bed-to-bed and talked to the 8 wounded soldiers personally. He gave each of them them Php 100,000 in cash and a Glock Pistol. In addition to those gifts, they were also awarded with A Wounded Personnel Medal.
There are no updates regarding the casualties sustained by the Abu Sayaff group. Meanwhile, the AFP continues their intensified operations against the terrorist group.
