Alleged drug lord of Eastern Visayas, Kerwin Espinosa, promised to name two senators in office and other big government officials who have been receiving money related to drugs in exchange for involvement and protection.
Whistleblower Sandra Cam told reporters on Monday that the alleged drug lord will be revealing the names soon. She also shared that Espinosa admitted having delivered drug money amounting to a whopping P5.7 Million on 2015 to a senator.
“Sa isang senator, si Kerwin mismo… Ang nasabi sa ‘kin, isang P1.7 [million], isang P2 million at another P2 million, so it’s P5.7 [million],” said Cam.
She further detailed that the money given in 2015 could be traced to the months of October, November and December in the Metro and “up north.”
Although shockingly, Cam claimed that one of the senators has a clean reputation in the public eye, saying that he or she has never once been accused of receiving drug money.
“The mere fact that you accepted money from a drug lord eh ‘di naging drug protector ka na nun,” she commented.
According to Cam, she was responsible for tipping off the drug lord’s whereabouts to the authorities.
She also claimed that she had conversed personally with Espinosa during his detention in Abu Dhabi.
Arriving last week in Manila, Espinosa said he will reveal everything including the personalities who had been protecting the illegal drug operations.
“Kahindik-hindik na hindi natin kakayanin tingnan ang mga pangalan na pinangalanan niya,” said Cam.
When asked if Senator Leila De Lima was one of the senators named, Cam obscurely answered: “I don’t want to say right now na nasa listahan siya pero siya ang nagsasabi na hindi mawawala na hindi siya i-pin down. It’s coming from her mouth.”
“I can say, for now, basta malalaking tao, senador, congressmen, gobernador, mayor, general at mga may binaggit na fiscal na doon natin makikita kung gaano na katalamak ang proteksyon ng droga.”
