How frequently do you pee? Well, the reason why this question was asked is to know whether you are healthy or not. We know that the more we drink water, we tend to urinate even more.
A person should pee at least 6 times a day up to 7 times. However, going higher than that may mean something is wrong with your health, and that is according to Benjamin Bucker M.D., assistant professor of urology at the NYU Langone Medical Center.
What is bad with frequent peeing?
Well, when the bladder fills up urine, nerves sends signals to our brain that we need to pee. But an overactive bladder might send signals to our brain even if we still have low urine which causes frequent peeing. Some of the potential health issues that might cause this are diabetes, urinary tract infections, and enlarged prostate. A sweet-smelling urine can be a sign of diabetes. When the gland pushes on the urethra, it makes the bladder work harder, causing pain during urination since it might inflame the nerves.
When you feel like you will pee a lot but it dribbles out slow, this may be caused by previous surgery, accident or sexually transmitted infections (STI). This may be painful and if not treated, it can damage the kidneys that may later on cause kidney stone build up.
Another thing: we tend to hold our pee whenever we are doing some important things or cannot find the nearest comfort room. Holding our pee is not actually bad, but doing it regularly can give you bladder infections.
See for yourself if you pee frequently. Urination for more than 10 times can be a sign of a more serious health concern.
