A volcano was seen “smiling” as it explodes in Hawaii, a viral video shows.
In an article written by Rokas L of Bored Panda, it was disclosed that Kilauea Volcano, which has been active since 1983, began erupting from the crater located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in late May. The Paradise Helicopters documented its 6.5 mile journey towards the Pacific Ocean and captured the volcano’s “smile” after the stream finally reached the coast.
The video has been shared a lot of times on different social networking sites. Many Internet users also commented on the view.
“Wow! A smiling face of molten lava coming from way down there? I don’t know if want to be fascinated by this random occurrence or concerned!” said P.B.
“Maybe if we wait long enough it will grow a nose too. Then when it starts breaking up we can say that it has freckles,” C.L. stated.
“Never thought a volcano can be so happy to give a smile!” K.C. joked.
Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. It is a shield-type volcano that makes up the southeastern side of the Big Island of Hawaii, according to LiveScience. The volcano rises 4,190 feet above sea level and is about 14 percent of the land area of the Big Island.
