- Rita Avila sent a letter and the coloring book version of her book “The Invisible Wings” to Pope Francis
- She received a thank you letter from the pontiff through a Vatican official
- This is the second thank you letter the actress received from Pope Francis
Actress-turned-book author Rita Avila was filled with gratitude when she received another thank you note from Pope Francis through Msgr. Peter Bryan Wells.
Msgr. Wells who served as the Assessor for the General Affairs of the Secretariat of State for six and a half years and has been appointed Nuncio to South Africa and Botswana last February, conveyed through a letter Pope Francis’ gratitude to the actress for the letter and the coloring book version of her book “The Invisible Wings” that she sent to the pontiff.
On her Instagram account, Avila shared the letter which read: “The Holy Father wishes me to thank you for letter and the book which you sent him. He appreciates the devoted sentiments which prompted you to share your work with him.
His Holiness will remember you in his prayers and he invokes upon you God’s blessing of joy and peace.”
The “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli” actress wrote that she was trembling out of extreme joy when she received the letter. She felt that Pope Francis was so kind and generous to send her a thank you letter again.
According to an article published by ABS-CBN News, Avila said in an interview with Mario Dumaual: “Unang sulat, umiyak ako nun kasi hindi ako makapaniwala. Itong huli nakita ko sabi ko may sulat na naman ako! Sobrang mapagbigay na tao ni Pope, binibigyan niya ng halaga ang bawa’t isa sa atin.”
[When I received the first letter, I really cried because I really couldn’t believe. When I received the second one, I said I have another letter. Pope Francis is truly generous because he gives importance to all of us.]
On December 2014, Avila also received a thank you note from Pope Francis through Msgr. Wells for the inscribed copies of her books “8 Ways to Comfort with Grace” and “The Invisible Wings.”
