- A Jollibee advertisement draws warm reactions from viewers
- “Almusal” tells of lasting love and promotes family attachment
- The Popular food chain celebrates its 38th year with heartwarming Kwentong Jollibee commercials
One of the four mini stories of the Kwentong Jollibee released on February 12 moved a lot of social media users and even brought some to tears.
Inspired by a true story, the short commercial entitled “Almusal” is about an old couple married for 27 years and who eats breakfast at Jollibee every day.
The video depicts the perspective of a husband (and possibly also a grandfather) as he narrates daily routine with his wife as they walk across their neighborhood towards Jollibee.
What heightens the viewers’ emotions and also warm hearts is the representation of a romantic and growing-old-together type of love. But what made many ‘sniff’ towards the end of the video is the implied passing away of the dearly loved wife — as she was ‘replaced’ by their teary-eyed yet smiling daughter on her usual seat at their favorite spot at Jollibee.
Online users could not help but share their reactions and sentiments particularly those who were able relate with the story.
Two other short videos of Jollibee are titled “Jabee” and “Tagpuan“; the former being about a toddler whose first word is “Jabee” and the latter about a young boy who was found by his mother at Jollibee, where he was told to go in case he gets lost.
To connect all three videos, one Kwentong Jollibee video about a long-time Jollibee store manager who witnessed all three stories was likewise released.
The Kwentong Jollibee Ads were launched by the food company for their 38th anniversary.
Jollibee Glocal Brand Chief Marketing Officer Francis E. Flores said, “Every Pinoy can relate to the TV ads as they are based on real stories from our customers. They depict the everyday lives of Filipinos and how they express their love to their families, and the role that Jollibee plays in making each memory more memorable.”
Indeed, the popular food chain has been embed in the lives of countless Filipinos, because #MayForever.
Let’s watch “Almusal” and be inspired to have that kind of love.
