Marriage is a social contract that you make under the eyes of God – where you promise to love, cherish and support your partner through thick and thin.
In many Christian weddings you’ll often hear the following classic pledge:
“I take you to be my lawfully wedded (husband/wife), to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.”
Those words are the promises that you make to your betrothed.
Unfortunately, some spouses aren’t strong enough to uphold the vows that they swore to.
A viral Facebook post by Matalinong Matsing shows what happened to Reynaldo Cebuco of Purok 7, Poblacion Sulop, Davao del Sur.
Mr. Cebuco was abandoned by his wife after he went blind due to diabetes. Worst still, she left him alone to take care of their two children - an 11-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son.
Mr. Cebuco used to work as a welder. Since being blinded by his condition, the poor father of two has no choice but to beg for money on the streets with his children.
