It’s not easy to be a woman. You have to face catcallers and certain incidents of harassment on a day-to-day basis, be constantly judged by your appearance, and be regularly constrained by society’s questionable standards on what makes a woman, “woman.”
A website has released a COMlist of devices that they deemed would be useful to women if ever they encounter situations of sexual assault and rape. In fact, they have called it “anti-rape devices.”
Here is the list:
1. The anti-rape Lingerie: Society Harnessing Equipment (SHE)
This lingerie was designed by three engineering students in 2013. They were Manisha Mohan, Rimpi Tripathi and Neeladri Basu Pal of the SRM University of Chennai.
According to them, the lingerie is designed to look like a normal nightwear but is in fact, equipped to give out an electric shock of up to 3,800 kilovolts to the rapist.
2. The Anti-Rape Wear
The creators of this suit only had a simple idea: “Women and girls could have more power to control the outcome of a sexual assault.”
The New York-based designers created ultra-tight running shorts, traveling shorts, and an underwear for women. According to them, if worn, they are “resistant to pulling, tearing and cutting.”
3. Buzzing Anti-Rape Device
Do not be fooled by its seemingly cute appearance--this device is reportedly known to create an alarm decibel level of 90 when it is pulled by the woman. It can be hanged on any bag or mobile phone.

4. Anti-Rape Necklace
Yes, such a thing exists. In fact, the creators of this claimed that it could even double as a bracelet. The “guardian angel”--so it is called--just needed to be pressed by the woman.
They will receive a fake call on their mobiles and if they held the button of the necklace for three seconds long, the device will send a text message to their emergency number, along with the woman’s location.
5. Rape Axe: Teeth Condom
Who says females can’t carry a condom nowadays? This specialized condom is designed to look like a female condom but has actually sharp prosthetics teeth inside.
Once an attacker forces their way into the wearer, the teeth will cling on to their manhood and cause deliberate pain. The attacker allegedly cannot remove the condom himself and if he does plan to, the teeth are designed to dig deeper into their skin.
Only a medical practitioner is qualified to remove the device, which would help eventually help towards identifying and punishing the rapist.
6. Anti-Rape Belt Buckle
The anti-rape belt buckle is designed to prevent anyone from forcibly removing the wearer’s belt. The wearer has to set up a complex code and set a particular position as the key to actually open the belt buckle.

7. FemDefence Needle Tampon
This device is a tampon-shaped weapon that could be worn by the women which have a sharp needle hidden towards the end.
If the one wearing this is attacked, the needle would supposedly penetrate its way to the attacker’s manhood and cause severe injuries.
8. The Injector
Sounds scary enough in itself, don’t you think? This device consists of two pneumatic syringes that contain a dye and a sedative solution.
If the wearer is attacked, the syringes would penetrate itself to the attacker’s manhood and temporarily incapacitate them. The wound would also be permanent.
9. Hairy Tights
Probably the oddest one in this list, but this is meant to discourage rapists and other attackers from further assaulting the woman because of her seemingly “hairy legs” that the tights are able to show as an illusion.
10. The Snare
Another odd one here but this contraption that designed like a mouse trap can effectively ward off attackers. It has two sharp prongs that have motion sensors.
Once it comes into contact with the attacker’s manhood, the prong will release itself and clench the attacker’s skin which would cause intense damage to his manhood.
What do you think, ladies? Care to buy these anti-rape devices by yourself?
