In parking lots and certain public areas, there are places specifically designated for the PWD or the physically disabled. This is to ensure that they would have an easier time in going back to their vehicles.
However, there are some people who think they’re entitled enough to actually use these spots and be in a “VIP” kind of position by waving their “I know the mayor” phrase or some other similar spiel.
In the social media, a photo of a black Toyota Fortuner with the plate “MAYOR” has been garnering lots of angry comments. The vehicle was parked on the PWD area of the MIAA or the Manila International Airport Authority.
After around 3-5 minutes, it was said that the driver of the vehicle got out, removed the PWD signage on the area, and lit up a cigarette stick. A few moments later, he was approached by one of the security guards of the airport.
The guard politely asked him to move his vehicle but the driver answered that the mayor was suffering from a knee pain.
When he heard this, the guard requested that the vehicle should be moved to the VIP parking area instead but to his surprise, the driver only answered him with a: "Talk to the Mayor!"
The guard apologized and explained that waiting in that area was actually not allowed. He claimed that he was just doing his job but the driver responded more angrily: "I said go talk to the Mayor!"
He turned his back from the guard and continued to smoke his cigarette.
Here is the conversation between the guard and the driver from the post:
Security Guard: sir, sainyo po ba itong kotse? Bawal po kc waiting dito... doon nlng po sa unahan.
Driver: May sakit sa tuhod c mayor.
(Turned his back ignoring the SC and puffed his cigar)
