This New Year, many stars have already shared their future goals and aspirations in life. One was celebrity Iza Calzado who welcomed 2018 sharing an encouraging message along with a simple bikini photograph taken during their holiday vacation.
On her Instagram account, Iza Calzado surprised her fans and followers as she uploaded a photograph where she was spotted basking under the sun on the beach in Phuket, Thailand. However, exposing her body wasn’t really the purpose of her post. In her lengthy post, she sincerely revealed how she used to feel unhappy about her own body.
In a world full of judgmental people, a public figure like her is quite expected to meet society’s unrealistic standards of beauty.
Her post reads:
“Imperfections. I have so many of them. Stretch marks, cellulites, loose skin, folds, love handles, scars and so many things I can be insecure about. I’ve been on the road to self love for such a long time it seems like I’ve been battling this my whole life.
It hasn’t helped that I’ve been in the public eye for 15 years and have always felt dishonest with my seemingly perfect images that make it to print.”
Iza is no different from many people who wished to make the most out of this year. She promised that she is going to be more forthright and real on her way to becoming a better person and good example to a lot of people.
Apart from that, she also thanked her partner in life, Ben for being supportive of her.
She added:
“In 2018 I will be more open and authentic about my journey as I’ve started to embrace myself more thanks to following body positive accounts and being inspired by them plus a supportive group of people around me especially my fiancé, Ben and because of the wisdom and maturity that comes with age.
I hope for a REVOLUTION on the way we see ourselves and other people. Love, respect, kindness and compassion are the key ingredients to this and I pray for more enlightenment and acceptance for every BODY.”
At the end of her message, Iza encouraged everybody to also share their journey in accepting who they really are and to be proud of their beauty from within.
