Nature often holds the most peculiar sights you will ever see.
Bryan Snyder, a naturalist and writer who hails from Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara, California, was able to witness the magic of nature in action and even managed to take some good photos.
He was out for a stroll when he started noticing something unusual. He witnessed a California Kingsnake and an Alligator Lizard fighting.
The snake dominated the lizard with a surprise attack to the body. Then the snake immediately starts swallowing the lizard. However, the lizard refused to back off and fought for its life. It counters the snake’s attempts to swallow it by biting the snake.
According to Bryan, snakes usually attack the head first, but due to desperation, it was forced to attack the lizard’s body. The lizard didn't give up and kept biting the snake in order to break free of its bite.
In the end, the lizard survived! The snake couldn’t take any more of the biting so it let the lizard go and then slithered away.
